The Opportunity
Household was asked to create a unique pop-up concept store and brand identity for ‘The British Designers Collective’, an annual fashion event hosted by Value Retail owned Bicester Village and the British Fashion Council and hosted by brand ambassador Alexa Chung.
In the past the event has been dedicated to womenswear designers. This year the experience was extended, transitioning from a womenswear to a menswear boutique once the women’s ‘season’ was over.
Our challenge was to provide a flexible but dramatic stage for both emerging and established British design talent to showcase their work, whilst building on the excitement that surrounds 2012 - a year that celebrates all that is British.
Our Solution
Our concept ‘Brit Shop Mansion’ takes inspiration from the quirkier side of ‘Britishness’, staged through a quintessential look and feel. We were influenced by the great halls of country mansion houses to create a vibrant, artistic environment that stimulates the imagination and gives a nod to British heritage. The Brit Shop Mansion mixes colour and light with quirky collectibles, all celebrating British style, tradition and craft with an edge of ‘Brit wit’.
To address the need for the environment to change, Household designed the interior concept so that it could flexibly transform using adaptable architectural features and accent colours, paneling details and props.
Household worked closely with the Value Retail team at Bicester Village to design all branding and experiential touchpoints from the identity, packaging, and bags and labeling, through to the Brit Shop store experience concept, visual merchandising, and signage.
Where We've Made A Difference
“With the British Fashion Collective now in its 3rd year, we really wanted to take the design concept to a whole new level and exceed customer expectations. The results for this years collaboration of artistic talent between Household and our own in-house creative team, has brought the Brit Shop Mansion to life in spectacular fashion”
