With people increasingly looking for food they can trust, it was time for the renaissance of the much loved humble. The big opportunity was to bring the classic pie back onto the table, re-invented in a proud, new form that people could enjoy as a sit down meal, or a decent meal on the run. Pokeno pies is all about fast food made slow.
The brand language we created captured the enjoyment of the pie eating experience. The design centred around two things; encouraging customer engagement with the eating ritual itself, and the revival of a familiar warmth and traditionalism. This was achieved through reclaimed timber furniture, sprayed battleship grey for a contemporary finish. Whilst stencilled place sittings at seated eating areas imply a fine culinary treat.
"Thanks to Pokeno, proper pies have finally come home. At last pies with crisp and buttery pastry and a fantastic range of fillings both traditional and contemporary have now hit the high street. And not only are the pies fabulous, the restaurant's pretty cool too."
