As Yahoo! grew its story was becoming lost internally and none of its on-screen energy was being felt behind the scenes. Our challenge was to develop a living, breathing environment that expressed the values and direction of the company, motivated Yahoo! employees, inspired visitors - and crucially, visually and emotionally connected the different parts of the business across five separate floors in the European Headquarter London location.
We translated this energy into the concept 'addicted to life'; it's a celebration of all the good stuff that Yahoo! makes possible. Dramatic larger than life graphic imagery was designed to tell stories about Yahoo! and its culture, whilst referencing London quirks. It was important to consider communal areas as an opportunity to encourage people to stop and chat, as someone said in an early interview "sometimes I don't recognise one person in a whole day!" That was enough to get us thinking…
We've released the Yahoo! online energy and created an environmental brand palette for the business to match… Dublin and Amsterdam next for the brand treatment.
