Our re-branding of call centres and head offices from NTL Telewest to Virgin Media has been featured in a new book called "I wish I worked there!". The idea of the book by Kursty Groves, presenter and innovation consultant - is to 'reveal the world's most inspiring and innovative places to work...looking specifically at how the working environment fosters the flow of ideas from both practical and emotional perspective - with business results'.
Collaborating on this book has been rewarding, as the ethos is central to our own philosophy at Household. We design workplaces that look to engender pride and inspiration at work, enhance the culture of a company or brand in the environment, and that simply create happy productive workplaces. Working within different business cultures such as Virgin Media, Yahoo! Tfl and AstraZeneca has shown us that every workspace environment has diverse challenges, varying amounts of people to engage with and a very different brand story to tell.
"Wanting to go into work everyday" is the holy grail of employee comments for any business looking to attract the best. So, talking to people, understanding what their day holds and where their challenges lie, for us, is the key to creating a branded environment that operates way beyond aesthetics - these spaces are powered with devices to motivate teams and individuals, and bring the brand to life for all who walk through the door!
