Here's what fashion insiders think about Versace’s Sale to Michael Kors.

Michael Kors has acquired Italian heritage brand Versace for $2.1 billion, another strategic move following the purchase of Jimmy Choo last year. Hypebeast asked fashion insiders including Household Executive Strategy Director and co-founder Michelle Du Prât what the sale means for the brand. “Michael Kors will be hoping to elevate its brand through association with the Versace group, and grow its brand equity in the Versace brand slip-stream,” says Michelle. “But it’s vital the two brands do not converge and maintain their distinctiveness and individual paths.”
